Griffin is a fantastic young talent. Her versatility is a big strength as she can play the forward in some matchups and has the ball skill to play the wing. Looking back to the spring we wanted to see more work on her handle. She’s clearly put some work in to this as her confidence with the ball in her hands this weekend was a significant improvement since the Austin evaluation. She’s a real competitor and competes with passion. She’s on the right track.
Griffin is a forward with a good amount of length and heart to produce. She sticks her nose into traffic to wrestle rebounds away from opponents. She is also quick to defend opponents on the interior and on the perimeter. Griffin is also a good ball handler and decision maker in the open court. She take the ball off the glass and lead the break. The growth in her game that is still available is with the ball in her hands. Polishing her ball skill and becoming stronger and decisive with her decisions will help her become more productive.
