Lanier is a point guard who is built to run a team. She is a terrific passer and has the vision to set up her teammates. She runs the break with confidence and can find her own shot when needed. Becoming more comfortable in the midrange with her pull-ups is an area where she can grow. -- Coach Hemi
From the Brandon Clay Spotlight Workout
After her performances at the Middle School All American Academy in February and again here, Lanier has quickly risen to the top of our must track guards in the region. She has the skill to compete with and against the high school aged prospects in the Academy coupled with the moxy to be a leader in the middle school session. Lanier can make all the plays needed to be successful. Becoming more vocal is her next area to level up.
Lanier is a fundamental point guard with a great attitude. She proved that she is coachable and willing to take instruction, which is one of the most important qualities as an athlete. During drills and game play, Lanier proved to be a very consistent shooter. She has the technique to become a knockdown shooter. On the defensive end Lanier brings great effort to defending the basketball. All these qualities combined are the foundation of great things to come. Lanier does have room to grow as a ball handler, especially in traffic. Improving her decision making should be a quality that grows with experience. -- Coach Hemi

Kids like Lanier are hard to come by as middle school prospects. She has the skill and ability to make scoring plays for herself but can get into traffic to find teammates as well. That skill will be enhanced as Lanier becomes more vocal on the hardwood.
