Arkansas Gets Stanton

This week Arkansas picked up a verbal commitment from class of 2015 combo guard Gabrielle Stanton of Kingwood, Texas. Stanton, a savvy lead guard who can make plays off the bounce or stretch the floor with the perimeter jumper, should fit in well at Arkansas. The three-star guard was a standout this fall at the Peach State Basketball Fab 5 camp where she had her full skill set on display.

Arkansas coach Tom Collen's and his staff were able to tap into one of the newest Southeastern Conference recruiting backyards, by going into Texas and landing a quality prospect like Stanton. With Texas A&M joining the league and Arkansas being so close in proximity to the State of Texas it would make a lot of since to see SEC schools like Arkansas recruiting the Lone Star state for years to come.

Blanton is the first commitment for Collins in the class. She comes in on the heels of the Razorbacks three-player 2014 signing class, which included 6-foot-5 post Bianca Blanaru from Romania, 5-7 guard Mariah Mitchell of McKinley, Texas, and two-star guard McKinley Bostad of Kennedale, Texas.

Potential Risers In Recruiting Class Rankings

Recently, Washington State picked up a big commitment from Australian forward Louise Brown of North Adelaide, Australia. As we talked about in our Platinum Reax to the Brown commitment, Brown is a high four-star prospect with the ability to make an early impact at the PAC-12 school. As a member of the U17, U18, and U19 national teams for the Australian women’s basketball program,

Brown has extensive international basketball experience and should be poised to compete at a high level. Depending on what other schools are able to add in the late signing period, the addition of Brown has the potential to catapult Washington State into the discussion of the top 25 recruiting class rankings in the country.

In addition to the last major chess piece in the class of 2014, Aj’a Wilson of Hopkins, S.C., making her college decision, a couple other factors that could contribute to any movement in the last recruiting class rankings. The addition of international prospects and junior college prospects to overall recruiting landscape are the biggest factors outside of Wilson. With the late signing period just over two months away we will keep you posted as to any movement.
