| West is class of 2018 point guard. Her first appearance at the Check Me Out Showcase was impressive in the way that she competed the whole series, played through fatigue and was the go-to hustle player on the floor. At 5'4, she is a smaller guard, but she was vocal and very involved in the process of the game. Communicated well with her teammates and brought energy defensively. She attacked the basket hard and got out and ran in transition when the off-guard was pushing the ball up the floor. Where West can look to improve quickly is in her midrange game. Developing a quick triggered pull-up and a floater that she can loft over the defense in a high traffic area, are keys for her effectiveness at the next level. Also, developing more strength over the course of the year will help her game all around, and help her command more offensively. Overall, West is a hustle player and a developing point guard that should continue to invest in the process. |
